International Day of People with Disability: Pick of the Litter
This screening is presented on the International Day of People with Disability.
Pick of the Litter follows five labrador puppies who embark on a 20-month journey to become assistance dogs for people with disability.
Of the 800 pups born every year at the training organisation, only 300 ultimately prove suitable to be paired with a person who is blind or visually impaired. These dogs are destined for great things.
Over the course of their formative years, assisted by volunteers and skilled trainers, we follow the trials and tribulations in their development as guide dogs.
The film offers a fascinating insight into the work that goes into training these precious pooches, and will have you rooting for them to pass their exams and meet their new owners.
