The Go-Betweens: Right Here + Q&A
Legends of the indie Oz Rock scene, The Go-Betweens provided a soundtrack to a generation of music enthusiasts in the 80s. They developed a sensitive and compelling style of songwriting that eluded the mainstream and all the trappings of popular success. Directed by Kriv Stenders, this marvellous documentary is part memoir, part concert film, and reveals how the dreams, art and love shared between band members still endure and continue to inspire a new generation.
Lindy Morrison OAM and Amanda Brown, former members of The Go-Betweens, will join us in conversation after the film.
‘Stenders has made an emotional, rolling thunder of a film, one this extraordinary band deserves’ – The Guardian
‘What Stenders captures - alongside classic songs such as “Cattle and Cane” and “Head Full of Steam” - is the emotional breadth and contradictory demands of being in a great band’ – The Sunday Age
