He joins us for an afternoon exploring men’s fashion on screen and in history. Dr McNeil is Professor of Design History at the UTS and the author of several publications that focus on fashion, costume and history.
This talk complements Heath Ledger: A Life in Pictures and is followed by a screening of Casanova (2005| M | 112 mins | USA| D: Lasse Hallström) at 5pm.
Heath Ledger plays the legendary 18th century lover in this romantic romp from director Lasse Hallström (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, 1993; Chocolat, 2000). Has the notorious Venetian adventurer and author Giacomo Casanova finally met his match in Sienna Miller’s fiery feminist Francesca?
