Dr Alex Ritchie and the Antarctic Fossil Expedition of 1970 - SOLD OUT
Please note: this event is sold out.
Visitors to the NSW town of Canowindra will be familiar with the Age of Fishes Museum, which showcases the ancient discoveries that Alex Ritchie and his Australian Museum team made when uncovering the area’s 370 million-year-old freshwater ocean.
In 1970, Dr Alex Ritchie accompanied an expedition to Antarctica when prehistoric fossils were discovered, and his findings helped piece together the puzzle explained as Continental Drift.
Now retired, Dr Ritchie joins us for a discussion and to share his previously unseen 16mm footage of the voyage.
