David Stratton, one of the world's most experienced film critics, introduces you to 101 Marvellous Movies You May Have Missed, and makes an eloquent case for why you should seek them out. David Stratton's selection of overlooked gems includes movies from well-known directors, popular actors such as Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Clint Eastwood, and Jake Gyllenhaal, and includes comedies, thrillers, westerns, musicals and romances from the 1980s onwards.  
David Stratton will talk about his new book, in conversation with NFSA General Manager, Collections and Access, Meg Labrum. 101 Marvellous Movies... will be available for signing from 1pm and again after the talk, with copies available for purchase on the day thanks to Harry Hartog Bookshop.

David Stratton's biography

David Stratton AM is an award-winning film critic, film historian and lecturer, television personality and producer. He has served as President of the International Critics Jury for the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, and was for 28 years co-host with Margaret Pomeranz of SBS's The Movie Show and ABC's At the Movies. A former critic for international film industry magazine Variety, he currently writes for The Australian. He is the author of film books The Last New Wave, The Avocado Plantation and 101 Marvellous Movies You May Have Missed, and a memoir, I Peed on Fellini.
