The festival presents films from all over the world concentrating on the theme of mental health that:

  • Provide an inspiring voice for social justice and human rights for people with mental illness

  • Highlight positive contributions made by mental health recipients

  • Fight stigma and defy stereotypes associated with mental illness

  • Share real-life stories of people with mental health concerns.

Program

Calm in Chaos (PTSD) - 9.00am

A documentary focusing on those front-line servicepeople dealing with PTSD.

Includes Panel Session with lived-experience participants.

OZ Films - 10.50am

A selection of films made by Australian filmmakers.

Bigly Yellow - 12.10pm

A documentary, 25 years in the making, about a jazz musician's life battling mental illness.

Includes panel session with filmmaker and the film's main character.

Best of International Shorts - 2.00pm

A collection of short films dealing with mental health from all over the world. 

The Lachance Family - 3.15pm

A French film following the members of a family learning to live their lives and deal with their individual mental health issues.
