For over 40 years, photographer Sebastião Salgado has travelled the world capturing some of the defining global events of the era, including war, famine and economic deprivation, in stark and uncompromising terms.
Now his son, Juliano Ribeiro Salgado, is working with master director Wim Wenders to tell Sebastião’s extraordinary life story on screen. They travel with Sebastião as he embarks on an attempt to reconnect with the natural world and the planet’s flora and fauna.
Following four decades of Salgado's work – from South America to Africa, Europe, the Arctic, and back home to Brazil – the film offers a powerful insight into the human condition and a tribute to the planet’s staggering natural beauty.
