Dir: Gábor Csupó, PG, United States, 2007, 95mins, 35mm,

Seeking an escape from trouble at home and school bullies, Jess (Josh Hutcherson) befriends new student Leslie (AnnaSophia Robb) and together they create Terabithia, a fantasy world in the forest.

As their imagined adventures in Terabithia are shaped by their real lives, Jess and Leslie try to find solutions to their problems. But when tragedy strikes, the very idea of Terabithia is threatened by something that Jess can’t help but face.

Based on the classic children’s novel by Katherine Paterson, Bridge to Terabithia explores the power of friendship, imagination and the courage to overcome grief.

'An affecting inquest into the nature of courage, mortality, grief and the healing power of faith’ – Time Out

Presented on a 35mm film print from the NFSA collection.
