In his first feature film, Heath Ledger is part of the ensemble of Steven Vidler’s emotionally charged story of toxic mateship and murder amongst a young surfing community. Nick Enright adapted his play, based on a real-life murder case.
The film earned Enright an AWGIE Award from the Australian Writers’ Guild and was shown at the Sundance and Cannes film festivals. It was also nominated for five AFI Awards, including best film.
With an introduction by producer David Elfick (Blackrock, Newsfront, Starstruck, Rabbit-Proof Fence).
