When orphan Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) unexpectedly meets a Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance) in the middle of the night, her whole world changes as she is whisked away to Giant Country.

However Giant Country is a dangerous place for children. Sophie and the BFG must devise a plan to keep the children of the UK safe from the giants – for which they need the help of the Queen (Penelope Wilton).

‘A marvellously melancholic motion-capture performance by Mark Rylance and vibrant support from rising star Ruby Barnhill provide the beating heart of this extremely likable adaptation of Roald Dahl’s family favourite... a story of two living, breathing misfits in whose emotional bonds we can invest, believe and rejoice’ – Mark Kermode, The Guardian
