Continuing our series of interactive, ‘out loud’ screenings. Some films deserve hushed reverence and quiet contemplation... these are not those films.

Set in 1985, Adam Sandler plays nice guy Robbie Hart, a talented and fun-loving wedding singer, who loses all hope when he is abandoned at the altar by his fiancée (Linda Featherstone). He begins performing songs like ‘Love Stinks’ and writing his own inventive new song, inspired by The Cure. ‘I can't believe I found a love that's so pure and true… It was a goddamn joke…’

He soon meets the lovely new waitress at work, Julia (Drew Barrymore), who enlists his help to plan her big day and sing at her wedding. Over time, Robbie falls in love with Julia, and learning of her questionable hubby-to-be and his admiration of ‘Grade A top choice meat’, sets out to win her over before she marries the wrong guy.

The Wedding Singer is a funny, sweet, hairspray-fuelled 80s love story, with an awesome soundtrack, a stellar cast, and a million quotable lines. So get your friends and the mutants over at Table 9 together for a fun night out and quote and sing along with your favourite parts. ‘No lessons! Thank you very much, pop!'

'The Wedding Singer might look like a bawdy Adam Sandler salute to the 80s, but its kind-hearted worldview makes it a timeless and unique romance’ – AV Club

‘It’s the unashamed overplaying of almost every tacky 80s fad that makes this such a joy to watch (and listen to)… simply irresistible’ – Empire
