Arc Out Loud: Tank Girl

Continuing our series of interactive, ‘out loud’ screenings. Some films deserve hushed reverence and quiet contemplation... these are not those films.

Thanks to a comet disrupting Earth’s rain cycle, by 2033 the planet has become a desolate, barren desert. Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell), the head of the evil Water & Power Corporation, now controls the water supply – and subdues the population.

Unwilling to cower to Kesslee's tyrannical rule, outlaws Tank Girl (Lori Petty) and Jet Girl (Naomi Watts) join the mysterious rebel Rippers to bring down the corrupt system.

Tank Girl failed critically and commercially, a badge of honour for a mid-90s postapocalyptic-feminist-punk carnival’ – Screen Slate

‘[The] neo-underground cult comic book comes to life looking, amazingly, exactly like it ought to … an ever-changing riot of colour, gratuitous violence, inter-species shagging [and] toss-away one-liners' - The Austin Chronicle

Don’t forget to bundle your Tank Girl ticket with a ticket to our Australians & Hollywood exhibition to save 15%! Exhibition open before the screening until 8pm Friday night.
