Reporter Adam Bowen to talks to kids and the owner of an amusement parlour about pinball machines and video games for this episode of Simon Townsend's Wonder World!.

Pinball machines have a history that can be traced back to the late 1700s with coin operation and electrification appearing in the 1930s and flippers in 1947. But it was in the late 70s that video games really took off and dominated amusement parlours with the arrival of Space Invaders in 1978, the first blockbuster arcade video game invented by Japanese company Taito. Space Invaders was responsible for starting what is often called the Golden Age of arcade games and is considered one of the most influential video games of all time.
