Bob Hain, TVQ 10 news' 'Games Guru', reviews some of the 'hottest new games in town'. Including a regular games review segment in a news bulletin shows just how significant the gaming industry had become by the early 90s. Today the gaming industry has been estimated to be worth around US$100 billion globally.
Among the games Hain reviews are Day of the Tentacle, Mortal Kombat, Jungle Strike and General Chaos. Interestingly, Day of the Tentacle was developed and published by LucasArts, the video game development group of George Lucas' film company, Lucasfilm. Computer games have quickly become a far more lucrative business than feature films.
