The NFSA has a number of unique and beautiful art deco venues that are available for film screenings, conferences, lectures, presentations and event receptions: Arc cinema, the theatrette, courtyard and exhibition gallery. Arc Cinema

Make a big impression with our grand art deco cinema


Arc cinema is a state-of-the-art, 248 seat venue capable of screening all manner of film formats from the early days of silent film through to the latest digital 3D images. Paired with a Dolby Digital EX sound system, Arc is the perfect venue for your keynote address, lecture or after session film night. Learn more about The Arc experience »

Theatrette

An intimate venue with a window to the world


The newly refurbished 114 seat Theatrette is an intimate option for smaller lectures, break-out sessions or live performances. Video conferencing and streaming, WiFi connectivity and laptop support table and charging points will keep your delegates connected throughout your session.

Courtyard

Enjoy the outdoors in our beautiful 1930s courtyard


The art deco heritage courtyard features beautifully landscaped gardens framed by cloisters. The courtyard is the perfect venue for event receptions and live music events for up to 250 people. During summer the courtyard is a popular venue for the NFSA’s outdoor screening program and seats up to 180 people.

Exhibition Gallery

Enhance your event with our interactive audiovisual experience


The picturesque courtyard and indoor exhibition gallery offer engaging spaces for evening cocktails to welcome guests, celebrate a great conference or launch your new product. Located on the edge of the Canberra CBD next to the Australian National University, the NFSA is close to hotels and national attractions.
