Location and operating hours
The National Film and Sound Archive is located on McCoy Circuit, Acton Canberra, ACT.
Free and easy parking spaces for buses are available at the southern side of the building.
Note: Access via Gordon Street is blocked from London Circuit. Coaches should turn into Ellery Crescent or Edinburgh Street into McCoy Circuit.
The NFSA is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm and weekends from 10am to 5pm.
Day school programs are facilitated weekdays from 9am to 5pm.
Evening school programs are facilitated Monday to Thursday nights from 5pm to 8pm.
Weekend school programs available Saturdays and Sundays at 10am and 12pm.
Making a booking
Bookings are essential for all groups and a minimum of three weeks notice is required.

The National Film and Sound Archive facilitates school programs that provide equal access to learning opportunities for all students. Please notify the bookings staff of any special requirements at the time of booking.
To ensure your group receives their full allocated time, please arrive five minutes before the booked start time.
Venue safety information
Facilities for schools
Storage facilities for bags are not available at the National Film and Sound Archive. Bags are not permitted in onsite education programs and are required to be stored on your coach.
Toilets are located in the main building and are adjacent to the Theatrette.
Open air eating spaces are available with the courtyard lawn recommended for groups of under 20 and the front lawns opposite the main building recommended for groups over 20. Undercover eating spaces are not available at the National Film and Sound Archive.
Wet weather areas are limited at the National Film and Sound Archive. If there is wet weather upon arrival, assemble students under the eaves at the front of the building on the McCoy Circuit side to be met by a NFSA educator. In case of wet weather, please have alternative locations planned for meal breaks and wet weather gear for staff and students.
Lunchbox catering can be arranged by the Teatro Fellini Café. Further details can be provided at the time of booking upon request.
Wheelchair access is available for all areas of the National Film and Sound Archive. Wheelchair access to the building is available from the south-facing entrance (Liversidge Street). Bathrooms (with disabled facilities) are located in the main building. If required, a wheelchair is available from NFSA reception. Use of this resource can be pre-arranged by calling (02) 6248 2000, or may be requested on arrival.
Recognised assistance animals are welcome.
