SHADOW SISTER Director, Producer, Editor: Frank Heimans A documentary from 1977 about poet, human rights activist and conservationist, Kath Walker. Shot mostly on location on Stradbroke Island (Qld) it explores Kath Walker’s relationship to her people; ‘Moongalba’, the ‘sit down place of her tribe’; and her work. Through her current work, Kath Walker encourages the continuity of Aboriginal culture in children. The documentary also looks at earlier times in Kath Walker’s life, and includes her reflections on the need for 1967 Referendum, for which she campaigned. |
