We regret that The Maid – our advertised Sunday 20 May, 2pm screening in our Auteurs from the Other Americas series – will not arrive in Australia in time for its advertised screening.

This is due to circumstances beyond our control, but we apologise for any inconvenience.

In its place, local distributor Vendetta Films has kindly offered us a chance to present a special preview screening of Blackthorn; the new Spanish/Bolivian feature and first directing outing for acclaimed Spanish screenwriter Mateo Gil (Open Your Eyes, The Sea Inside, Agora).

Blackthorn stars actor/playwright Sam Shepherd as notorious American outlaw Butch Cassidy – alive and well in 1920s Bolivia.

It also features Stephen Rea and cult Peruvian actress Magaly Solier (MadeinUSA, Antiplano).
